Architecture

An unforgettable location with a trendsetting architecture.

The Design Center Linz is an architectural masterpiece, unforgettable to anyone who lays their eyes on it. Its design is unobtrusive, yet amazing.

The Design Center Linz is a timeless, airy, modern, and avant-garde glass structure.

Its arch construction, made of steel forms the roof of the 10,000 m2 pillar-free interior.

The unique glass roof consists of 3,456 glass panels. This revolutionary glass roof construction by Bartenbach Lichtlabor allows for magnificent natural daylight. The glass panels allow light to flood in without heat or blinding sunlight.

Architect Professor DI Thomas Herzog planned this event center, which was opened in 1994 after only two and a half years of construction.

The Design Center was the first Upper Austrian location to be certified for green meetings & events.

The event center’s heating and ventilation systems meet the highest economical and ecological standards, the well-water cooling system being a significant contribution.
