1000 GUESTS VISITED THE DESIGN CENTRE LINZ AT THE OPEN DAY

Today, 25 years ago, the DESIGN CENTER LINZ was officially opened. Reason enough to reflect on the past and to invite all Linzers to the open day. Managing Director Thomas Ziegler invited initiators and long-standing friends and partners of the Design Center Linz to the official opening ceremony. In an entertaining round of talks, they talked about the origins and development of the house.

Thomas Ziegler, Managing Director: "As a renowned exhibition and congress centre, the Design Center is the international flagship of the provincial capital in the event sector. The timeless and multifunctional event centre provides important economic impulses and has become a trademark of Linz. The Design Center Linz can look back on a successful and gratifying 25-year history. For this I would like to thank our customers and my entire team very much."

Among the guests of honour were: VBgm.in Karin Hörzing, retired mayor Franz Dobusch, Mag. Thomas Ziegler (managing director of the Design Center Linz), architect of the Design Center Linz, Prof. Thomas Herzog, DI Heinz Stögmüller (executive architect), Friedrich Angerhofer (managing director of the construction company of the Design Center Linz), Vbgm. Hans Nöstlinger (Chairman of the Construction Company of the Design Center Linz), Hans Mixner (former Director of the Design Center Linz), Gerhard Straßer (Managing Director of AMS Upper Austria), Thomas Eder (Director of Courtyard by Marriott Linz), Manfred Grubauer (Linz Exhibition Association) and many more.

After the official welcome, visitors could look forward to a colourful programme: from stylish light shows in the event hall and a best of Deep Space in the congress hall (powered by Ars Electronica Center), to guided tours off the beaten track and the large rotary heat recovery exchanger, there was something for everyone. DoN Catering took care of the physical well-being with small snacks and drinks.
